Karvexis

Description

Before he became KARVEXIS, he was a military demolition specialist sent beneath a city to investigate an experimental weapon buried far below its foundations. The device collapsed the district above him and entombed his entire unit. He was the only one who returned. Whatever happened beneath the rubble replaced portions of his body with an expanding mineral anatomy capable of surviving forces that should crush anything alive.
KARVEXIS possesses an ability called Burdenforge. Weight, impact, compression, and physical resistance place energy into his transformed body rather than simply exhausting it. That accumulated strain produces additional layers of incredibly dense mineral flesh, increasing his strength and durability. The fiery fractures across his body appear when the pressure stored within him approaches its limit.
In this scene, KARVEXIS has entered a city already collapsing into violence.
He stands in the center of a devastated commercial street with a wrecked SUV hoisted high above his head. The vehicle’s chassis is crushed, windows shattered, suspension exposed, and bodywork twisted from tremendous force. Yet KARVEXIS holds the enormous wreck with both arms while remaining firmly planted among the debris.
His body resembles a moving fortress. Thick plates of dark, stone-like flesh cover his chest, shoulders, arms, and skull while brilliant orange fissures burn between them. The same glow reaches his eyes, giving the impression that tremendous pressure is building somewhere beneath the hardened exterior.
Around him, storefronts burn. Smoke pours between damaged buildings, broken masonry covers the roadway, and abandoned wreckage has turned the street into a corridor of destruction. A military tank advances behind him with its cannon pointed toward the confrontation.
KARVEXIS does not retreat from the approaching weapon.
He doesn’t even put down the vehicle.
Because every kilogram above his head, every step against the ruined pavement, and every impact still coming his way gives Burdenforge something else to work with.
The harder the world tries to put KARVEXIS down, the more difficult he becomes to stop.
