Scarlet Witness

Description

Every evening the lagoon tells its story, and every evening the same red bird is there to hear it.

He takes his post on the old piling where the dock ropes have gone gray and stiff with salt. The sun drops fat and golden behind him. The palms go purple, then black. Boats come and go, and the ibis never moves. He watches the water hold the colors of the sky, watches the posters peel on the harbor wall, watches everything, and keeps every secret.

Scarlet Witness is a Crafty Corner Originals™ piece built in layers of torn paper, weathered type, and dripping paint, with the ibis painted as a flame of crimson, tangerine, violet, and teal. The glowing sun frames his curved beak, and the reflecting lagoon pulls the whole scene together.

Hang it where the room needs a jolt of warmth and a quiet witness of its own.
