A Crown The Forest Grew

Description

The antlers did not simply grow. The forest appears to have claimed them for its own.
Branches sweep outward from the luminous stag’s head, carrying moss, tiny blossoms, mushrooms, new leaves, and delicate markings of blue light. They resemble an entire woodland canopy gathered into the shape of a crown. Below them, the stag seems almost transparent—its pale body traced with shimmering lines and scattered points of light, as though something normally invisible has briefly taken physical form.
The surrounding forest answers with smaller wonders. Oversized mushrooms glow softly along the moss-covered ground. White and blue flowers climb across the stag’s body while mist drifts around its raised hooves. Brilliant butterflies provide sudden flashes of violet, blue, and gold against the cool shadows of the woods.
At the lower edge of the clearing, a tiny luminous fox watches.
Its presence changes the scale of the scene. Beside the towering stag, the little creature seems impossibly small, yet it stands without fear. That quiet encounter gives the artwork its center: not a chase, a battle, or a grand display of magic, but one woodland creature witnessing something it may never see again.
A Crown the Forest Grew imagines a place where nature does not need jewels, metal, or a throne to choose what is majestic. Here, the forest makes its own crown—and for one moonlit moment, allows someone else to see who wears it.

The fox kit had wandered three hollows past the den, chasing a butterfly she could never quite catch, when the light found her. It came through the mist on four legs, taller than any tree she knew, carrying half the forest on its head. Mushrooms glowed along its antlers. Flowers grew from its shoulders. Every story her mother told about the Antlered One said to stay hidden, so she sat perfectly still in the moss and tried to look like a stone. The stag stopped. It lowered that enormous crown until one small blue blossom brushed her nose. Then it turned toward the den, walking slowly enough for a very small fox to keep up.
