Description

The reef rises from the seafloor in folds, branches, and tightly coiled formations, building an underwater landscape that feels almost architectural. Above it, a manta ray crosses a brilliant canopy of filtered sunlight while silver bubbles climb toward the surface and a school of tiny fish gathers in the open blue.
The unusual coral formations give the foreground tremendous weight and texture, while the open water creates an entirely different sense of scale overhead. Light becomes part of the composition itself—forming luminous columns through which the marine life passes.
Cathedral of the Blue Current turns a living reef into something monumental: a submerged sanctuary shaped not by stone and glass, but by coral, water, movement, and light.

The divers at the reef station named the manta Deacon because it arrived every morning at nine, as dependable as church bells. It would glide over the big brain coral, circle once through the falling light, and drift off toward deeper water while the little silver fish scattered and regathered behind it. One week, Deacon didn't come. The divers checked the logs, checked the currents, and pretended not to worry. On the eighth morning, the shadow returned at nine sharp, followed by a second, smaller one that kept bumping into the bubbles. Nobody at the station has been late for the morning dive since. The attendance sheet now has two names on it.
