Description
The old world did not end in fire.
It simply stopped being stronger than what grew beneath it.
Years after the city fell silent, rain pours through the hollow remains of towers while roots split foundations and vines climb rusting steel. Roads disappear beneath moss. Mushrooms emerge from shattered concrete. Young trees take hold on floors once sealed away from sunlight. Nature has not merely returned to the ruins—it has begun rebuilding them in its own image.
And at the center of that transformation, something extraordinary has awakened.
An immense figure kneels among the wreckage, his body assembled from everything the recovering earth could reclaim: timber, stone, tangled roots, moss, leaves, and fragments of the civilization slowly disappearing around him. He is neither destroyer nor conqueror. His enormous hands rest carefully among the ruins because his purpose is not to tear down what remains.
His purpose is to carry what comes next.
Nested deep within his chest is a luminous young presence, sleeping behind an intricate cradle of living roots. Golden light radiates from her face while the giant’s wooden body shields her from the relentless storm. The vines surrounding her do not imprison her; they curve inward protectively, forming a sanctuary grown rather than built.
She is the Green—not a single tree or spirit, but the first consciousness of a wilderness being born from the remains of a dead city.
The giant is her cradle.
While she sleeps, roots spread farther beneath the streets. New growth climbs another wall. Tiny blue lights gather in forgotten corners. Every rainfall feeds the transformation, and every crumbling piece of concrete creates another opening through which life can return.
One day, the figure within the roots will awaken.
By then, there may be very little of the old city left to see.
But that is not the end of its story.
It is the beginning of hers.
