Description
KELYSTRON was once a systems engineer investigating unexplained failures in a city’s electrical grid when he discovered that certain electrical fields could be folded rather than merely conducted. The accident that followed permanently altered his nervous system. His power, Arc Folding, allows him to bend an incoming energetic force through tightly compressed paths and redirect its momentum. His armor keeps those folds from passing through his own body.
UMBRACRYN began as something far less human. It formed inside the accumulated darkness cast by millions of people and structures across a city—a mass of discarded shadow that eventually developed awareness. Its ability, Blackgrowth, converts surrounding darkness into temporary physical mass. The more shadow available to it, the larger and more heavily armored it can become, producing jagged limbs, protective plating, and enormous striking surfaces before the borrowed darkness eventually collapses back into ordinary shadow.
Their collision happens high above a rain-soaked city.
KELYSTRON braces against the rooftop with one leg extended behind him as electricity gathers into a brilliant circular fold around his left hand. His opposite arm drives forward behind a blazing heraldic energy shield, its gold-and-red surface becoming the narrow boundary between him and the enormous creature bearing down from the darkness.
UMBRACRYN nearly consumes the opposite half of the scene. Layers of black, blade-like growth cover its hulking body while crimson energy burns through the gaps beneath its armor. One massive fist surges toward KELYSTRON, surrounded by twisting fragments of shadow that appear to peel away and reform in the rain.
Lightning fractures the sky behind them. Neon signs bleed color across the wet rooftop. Fire, electricity, crimson energy, and blackened debris converge at the center, where KELYSTRON’s shield meets UMBRACRYN’s attack.
The artwork captures neither victory nor defeat. It holds the confrontation at its most uncertain instant—the fraction of a second when an immovable defense discovers exactly how much darkness can be given weight.
